THERE, OVER THE HORIZON
‘’I left Chile when I was 7 years old, so this work is about trying to re-connect with the land of my birth.
Traveling alone through the desolate and beautiful landscapes felt like a natural way to reconnect with my roots. To experience the land in a very primal way, hoping to absorb some of its rich and sometimes dark past; to not only see but also to feel and listen to it.
I did very little planning on this journey, preferring to immerse myself in the landscape, following an almost somnambulant path.
Having travelled through the incredible dry heat of the Atacama Desert, arriving at El Tatio was an opportunity to take a moment, to stand still, absorb and breathe.
My main consideration at El Tatio, as to engage and record the silent and fleeting nature of the geysers, absorbing intently whatever emotions this breath-taking and timeless landscaped offered me.
