Latvian born artist, photographer currently based in Glasgow.
The question of "Reality" is a recurring theme within her work. The exuberant complexity of a single moment expressed through layered techniques, ranging from digital 3D modelling to analogue photography and collage making, all aimed to express a timeless reflection of a blur between thought, reality and perception. No division is made between "virtual" and "real", digital and analogue, mental and physical. The process of image making is intuitive; work is an ongoing discourse, question.
This project is an attempt to express the contemplative state of being. Inside and outside being infinitely connected. Nature - fluid, intertwined with the human, responsive to the thought and reflective of the mental state. Interpretation and experience as part of reality itself. Indefinite amounts of realities bound and born from interpretation. Taking roots in the mind and existing outside of it. Thought responding to the vision as the vision itself responds to the thought. The act of looking at, and the experience of nature as an act of looking into oneself.
