‘‘I had a lot of freedom with this shoot, well, I basically had nothing but freedom. I got to choose the locations, the garments the styling and the models. There isn’t a big premise to the shoot other than me wanting to pair women I find interesting and observe them interact with one and other and with nature. Two of the girls, Ellen and Safiya, are best friends/soul-sisters. They talk with each other probably every day, but being in nature in silence while embracing your best friend is not something we give ourselves the time to do everyday and it is definitely not something they had really done before together. That is what I wanted them to explore, there is something so therapeutic and intimate about the photographic process for me and hopefully the same is felt for those on the other side of the lens.’’
