Marco Barbieri a photographer of Italian/Czech origins based in London.
His work is focused on places where religion and politics play an important role in people lives. He is interested in documenting how these forces affect the daily routine of the population and how, at the same time, life inevitably tends to go on as usual.
This focus brought Marco to "off-the-beaten-track" places such as Nagorno-Karabakh, Iran or, more recently, Uzbekistan where he documented how the Aral Sea environmental disaster affected Uzbekistan.
Working using only medium format film, he shows a compositional approach to photography.
